Build history
How the trunk got built
Three real, dated build phases sit behind the current system: research pinned the schema, the schema shaped the card corpus, and the corpus is what the trunk now runs on. They are kept here as build history, not as live status — for what the system can do today, see the Atlas.
The original plan continued past Phase 1 with numbered phases for storage, retrieval, reasoning, and validation. Those are superseded: as of 2026-07-18 the project is built as a trunk (cards → knowledge graph → embeddings → a 17-tool query layer) with interchangeable output heads (query, prediction, prophecy, story) on top. The trunk's storage and query layers are built and tested; the heads are in progress. Their old placeholder pages described a different, earlier pipeline and have been retired.
Phase −1
Research
Background research across ontology, causal substrates, cyclical dynamics, world-systems, network theory, and the machine atlas. All 30 briefs accepted into a consolidated synthesis.
Phase 0
Schema
Machine Card schema: 50+ fields, closed enums, phase-snapshot trajectories, lineage links, cross-era coupling typology. Pinned and still authoritative.
Phase 1
Machine Cards
Hand-curated corpus of civilizational machine classes spanning MM, DM, and LM eras with phase-snapshot trajectories and cross-era couplings.
Cards into a graph — the conceptual explainer for how cards become a queryable, time-aware topology — is still live: read it →
